The first official teaser trailer for Netflix’s upcoming sci-fi drama The Adam Project, featuring Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, Free Guy) as a time-traveling fighter pilot who must team up with his younger self, has been unveiled.
The teaser begins with Adam (Walker Scobell), a 12-year-old child who is suffering from the apparent loss of his father (Mark Ruffalo) and getting into trouble at school, much to his mother’s chagrin (Jennifer Garner). One night, a strange man suddenly pays a visit to Adam (Reynolds), who knows his house very well, has the same trauma as him, and is wearing his father’s watch. Soon after, Adam connects the dots and understands that this man is his future self.
The elder Adam quickly convinces his younger self that time travel does exist. “This world, our world, everything has already changed,” he says, and it’s up to them to “put the genie back in the bottle.” The two Adams are even reunited with their father, presumably as a consequence of more time travel. The Adam Project, directed by Shawn Levy and written by T.S. Nowlin, Jennifer Flackett, Jonathan Tropper, and Mark Levin, will be released on March 11th. The movie also features Catherine Keener, Zoe Saldaa, and Alex Mallari Jr. besides Reynolds, Scobell, Ruffalo, and Garner. “After accidentally crash-landing in 2022, time-traveling fighter pilot Adam Reed teams up with his 12-year-old self on a mission to save the future,” according to official description in Netflix.
The Adam Project debuts on Netflix on 11th March.
