Disney+ has debuted the official Ice Age: Scrat Tales teaser, which features six new animated shorts. The film is scheduled to begin streaming on April 13.

The movie, which you can see below, opens with Scrat, the fan-favorite saber-toothed squirrel, becoming a father to a naughty Baby Scrat. Now, the adored mascot is conflicted between becoming a decent dad and continuing his lifelong passion for pursuing nuts.

Ice Age: Scrat Tales, directed by Donnie Long, stars Chris Wedges as Scrat and Karl Wahlgren as Baby Scrat, with the voices of Chris Wedges and Karl Wahlgren respectively. Executive producers Robert L. Baird and Andrew Millstein are on board, with Anthony Nisi as a producer.

Blue Sky Studios, a company of 20th Century Fox, was in charge of the production of Ice Age. Throughout the series, several ancient species being on the brink of extinction were voiced by actors such as Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Queen Latifah, Josh Peck, and Seann William Scott. Between 2002 and 2016, five Ice Age films were released in cinemas, grossing a total of $3.2 billion worldwide in their respective years of release. Blue Sky Studios was closed down in 2021, with Disney acquiring the sole rights to the series in the following year.
