The premiere of House of the Dragon is around the corner.
House of the Dragon brings readers back to George R.R. Martin’s Westeros after an absence of more than three years without any new Westeros stories. The next Game of Thrones spin-off series will continue to follow suit combining drama, battles, and dragons that has kept millions of viewers riveted to their screens year after year.

House of the Dragon‘s is slated to hit HBO and HBO Max on Sunday, August 21 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. The show’s ten episodes will be aired weekly. Inspired by Martin’s Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon chronicles the up and down of the Targaryens, the last surviving family of dragonlords after the Doom of Valyria. It is set 3 centuries before the events of the award-winning series adaption of “Game of Thrones,” which wrapped up in May 2019. Given that Game of Thrones was among the most watched television shows of all time, shattering all sorts of viewership records, its successor at HBO is expected to make a splash.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon tells the tale of the Targaryens, the only family of dragonlords to survive the Doom of Valyria. The award-winning television adaptation of Game of Thrones, which aired its final episode nearly two years ago, is set 300 years before the events of this novel.
Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Matt Smith, and Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen will serve as the series’ main characters in the ten-episode run. Along with Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Milly Alcock, Matthew Needham, Sonoya Mizuno, Graham McTavish, Eve Best, Ryan Corr, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Gavin Spokes, Wil Johnson, Emily Carey, John Macmillan, Savannah Steyn, Bill Patterson, and Theo Nate, it will also include David Horovitch, Bill Patterson, Matthew Needham, and Gavin Spokes.
Miguel Sapochnik, George R.R. Martin, and Ryan Condal are the creators of House of the Dragon, and Miguel and Ryan will also act as the showrunners. Martin, Condal, Vince Gerardis, Sapochnik, and Sara Lee Hess are the executive producers.
