The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power‘s first two episodes have finally been released, but it appears like HBO is attempting to overshadow the Amazon Prime series. Ahead of its spectacular launch last month, House of the Dragon‘s first episode from HBO Max has now been made available on YouTube.

On September 1, 2022, the first episode of House of the Dragon was posted on the HBO Max official YouTube page. The 65-minute episode The Heirs of the Dragon introduced viewers to King Viserys I Targaryen as he was ready to give birth to his male heir. But when the difficult delivery results in the deaths of his queen and the child, too, the king was forced to make a decision that would ultimately bring about the end of House Targaryen.
It’s wonderful to hear that those without HBO or HBO Max may now see the premiere of House of the Dragon. It is also mentioned that the timing is intriguing in light of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power‘s simultaneous debut.
Given that Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon‘s predecessor, was one of the network’s biggest successes, it is no secret that HBO wants House of the Dragon to generate as much attention as possible. It’s also obvious that HBO is purposefully highlighting the rivalry between the two epic fantasy film adaptations Rings of Power and Dragon.
Which program will get more viewers or receive more plaudits for its cinematography and plot is currently unknown. We are hope that viewers would watch both programs and take full advantage of them.
