Henry Cavill took to social media to clarify the news and elaborate on what it might entail after it was revealed that he would be starring in an upcoming Warhammer 40,000 production for Amazon Studios.

Cavill confirmed the news in a post on Instagram over the weekend, noting that he has had a 30-year goal of working on a Warhammer project. Cavill claimed that after 22 years in the business, he now believes he has “the ability set and expertise to shepherd a Warhammer Cinematic Universe into life.”
Cavill continued by praising Natalie Viscuso of Vertigo, with whom he claims to have been working as a team, for aiding in getting the project accepted by Amazon. Finally, Cavill delivered a message to Warhammer fans in particular, promising to respect the IP and bring something recognizable to everyone.
Cavill also mentioned a “Warhammer Cinematic Universe,” which is significant to note since the first report from The Hollywood Reporter referred to the project as an Amazon TV series. The possibility of a TV play and a film play with the franchise is also mentioned in their piece, so perhaps the business intends to fully expand a Warhammer universe for fans.
