Stars including Henry Cavill, Amber Heard, and Jason Momoa can be seen getting into superhero shape for Zack Snyder’s Justice League in new behind-the-scenes pictures.

When Zack Snyder abandoned the production due to a family tragedy, Joss Whedon finished the Justice League theatrical cut and released it in 2017. When moviegoers didn’t like the theatrical cut, they started a petition asking Warner Bros. to reveal director Zack Snyder’s version of the movie. In the end, fan work paid off, as Snyder finished his 4-hour version of Justice League for HBO Max’s release in 2021.
In order to fight the threat posed by Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds), the movie sees Henry Cavill’s Superman revived to team up with Ben Affleck’s Batman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, and other heroes.
The Justice League cast and director Zack Snyder can be seen working out to get their superhuman bodies in photos that have been released for the first time on Twitter. Henry Cavill, who plays Superman, Ray Fisher, Jason Momoa, and even Mera actress Amber Heard, before her current court case with Johnny Depp which made her a controversial figure, are all shown in the photos.
These photos were captured by Mark Twight, a trainer and photographer. Of course, if they weren’t in black and white, they wouldn’t be images from a Zack Snyder film. View the fresh pictures in the tweets below:
The pictures are a powerful illustration of the effort superhero movie actors put in to develop superhuman bodies. Jason Momoa and Amber Heard are anticipated to return to the big screen in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom next year, while it is unclear at this time whether Zack Snyder will return to helm another DCEU film.
