Following an initial release as an Easter egg for die-hard Westworld fans, HBO made it official and made season 4 available to the general public.
Things are looking peaceful and pleasant in the science fiction epic – that is, until the Man in Black appears.
The drama is all set to make a comeback with an eight-episode season 4 on June 26. Evan Rachel Wood will also reprise his role, as will Thandiwe Newton, Ed Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Aaron Paul, and Luke Hemsworth.
Season 3 wrapped up with Newton’s Maeve and Paul’s Caleb defeating Serac (Vincent Cassel), while Harris’ Man in Black looked to have been slain by his robotic alter ego, controlled by Thompson’s Chalores (an amalgam of the characters Dolores and Charlotte Hale).
Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy developed Westworld for television, and they also serve as executive producers with Alison Schapker, Denise Thé, Athena Wickham, J.J. Abrams, Richard J. Lewis, and Ben Stephenson. In conjunction with Warner Bros. TV, Kilter Films and Bad Robot Productions are behind the series’ production.
