The working title for The Penguin-centered spin-off of The Batman on HBO Max has been revealed.

The Illuminerdi staff members claim that The Penguin is going into production with the working title “Boss.” According to the website, filming will start in New York City in January 2023 and continue through August of the same year.
The Penguin is presently set to debut before the release of the untitled sequel to The Batman, HBO Max’s head of originals Sarah Aubrey confirmed earlier this month. A Spring/Summer 2024 premiere appears feasible given that the series will wind up production in August of next year.
Colin Farrell reprises his role as the evil Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot in The Penguin, which takes place in the same universe as The Batman. Sofia Falcone, the daughter of Gotham City mobster Carmine Falcone, who was portrayed by John Turturro in The Batman, has just joined the cast of the show. She is played by Cristin Milioti.
The Penguin‘s first two episodes will be directed by Craig Zobel (Mare Of Easttown), with Chuck and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Lauren LeFranc serving as the project’s writer and showrunner. Along with The Batman director Matt Reeves and producer Dylan Clark, Colin Farrell serves as an executive producer on the show.
The Batman is now the fourth highest-grossing movie of the year after collecting 770.8 million at the global box office since its March release. The script for the Warner Bros. project’s sequel is being written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin at the moment.
