
A teaser for Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, the Oscar-winning filmmaker’s adaptation of the traditional fairy tale about a wooden marionette brought to life to console a grieving woodcarver named Geppetto, was made available on Netflix on Wednesday. The stop-motion movie, which was co-directed by del Toro and Mark Gustafson, will premiere in theaters in November and be available to stream in December.

Christoph Waltz, Finn Wolfhard, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, John Turturro, and Burn Gorman are also featured in the voice cast of Pinocchio.
Del Toro wrote the screenplay with Patrick McHale, and he is directing it with Mark Gustafson (The PJs). The stop-motion production company for the movie is Shadow Machine in Portland, Oregon.
Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toro will have a small theatrical run in November before making its Netflix debut in December. In September, a rival adaptation from Tom Hanks and Robert Zemeckis debuts on Disney+.
