James Gunn, the writer, and director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 provided an update on the film’s development.
After a long, winding road, Marvel Studios’ long-awaited Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is finally heading to cinemas in Summer 2023. Following his stint with DC as writer/director of The Suicide Squad and creator of the HBO Max smash series Peacemaker, James Gunn is hard at work on the last installment of his trilogy.
With fans waiting with bated for additional information on the highly-anticipated picture, James Gunn shared a quick update on the sequel’s development progress, as well as where the forthcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special stands in relation to its production:
Even after Vol. 3 wraps up, James Gunn will continue to be stuck with his tightly busy schedule since he is also expected to return to write and helm all of Peacemaker Season 2’s episodes. Additionally, he is developing another DC project, establishing him as yet another uncommon example of a famous individual who is actively connected with both comic book industries.
Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Sylvester Stallone, Sean Gunn, Will Poulter, and Chukwudi Iwuji are also on board as cast members in the film, which is written and helmed by James Gunn.
The film is slated to swoop into cinemas on May 5, 2023.
