Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is making his way to Apple.

The Game of Thrones alum has been cast as the male protagonist in Apple‘s upcoming limited series The Last Thing He Told Me, alongside Jennifer Garner in the drama based on Reese Witherspoon‘s Hello Sunshine.
The show was initially planned to premiere in December 2020 with Julia Roberts as the lead, but Garner took over for the Pretty Woman actress in November when scheduling conflicts stopped the former from continuing with the Apple project.
Hannah (Garner) is the protagonist of the series, who develops an unusual friendship with her 16-year-old stepdaughter Bailey (Angourie Rice) while trying to uncover the truth about why her husband has inexplicably vanished from her life. Owen, Hannah’s spouse, will be played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
Laura Dave adapts her book, inspired by the self-titled novel, and acts as co-creator of the series with her Oscar-winning husband, Josh Singer (Spotlight). Both executive produce alongside Garner, Witherspoon, and Lauren Neustadter, who co-wrote Hello Sunshine. Last Thing is Hello Sunshine‘s second collaboration with Newman, who was at the helm of the company’s feature film Where the Crawdads Sing (which is set to be out in July).
Coster-Waldau recently acted in Against the Ice, a feature film he co-wrote and produced via his Il Kippers label. Additionally, he executive produced the animated Danish documentary Flee.
