A new “Alien” movie is revealed to be in production at 20th Century Studios, with “Don’t Breathe” filmmaker Fede Alvarez slated to direct the project. The film’s producer is Ridley Scott, who directed the original 1979 film.
Alvarez is also writing the screenplay for the solo feature in addition to directing. Scott is producing the film under his Scott Free brand, and it is slated to premiere on Hulu.
‘Alien’ is a science fiction film that centers on a spacecraft’s crew as they bump into a bloody alien. Tom Skerritt, Veronica Cartwright, Sigourney, WeaverHarry, John Hurt, Dean Stanton, Ian Holm, and Yaphet Kotto are stars appearing in this science fiction horror thriller. The film’s huge box office success pushed its follow-ups and spinoffs to be produced, including “Aliens” (1986), “Alien 3” (1992), and “Alien Resurrection” (1997), as well as the “Alien vs. Predator” crossover flicks and “Prometheus” spinoffs. Alvarez’s project, on the other hand, is to put a new spin on the series and will have no tie to the storyline of the previous three “Alien” films.
“Prey,” a new “Predator” prequel film from 20th Century Studios, is slated to premiere on Hulu this summer. Scott is also in discussion to executive produce an “Alien” series from Noah Hawley at FX. Alvarez has extensive experience with the horror genre, having previously helmed “Evil Dead” in 2013 and “Don’t Breathe” in 2016. “The Girl in the Spider’s Web” was his most recent feature, released in 2018. Alvarez also worked as a producer on the sequel.
