The first scenes for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore Official Trailer have been published, including Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander’s reappearance, Jude Law‘s Albus Dumbledore, along with the introduction of Mads Mikkelsen as Gellert Grindelwald.
The Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore teaser opens with Law saying, “If you listen carefully enough, the past whispers to you.” The past episodes of the Harry Potter film franchise are undoubtedly talking back to this teaser, as if we get a short flashback to Michael Gambon‘s Dumbledore, in the period at Hogwarts, and even take a stroll to the Room of Requirement.
According to Newt’s brother Theseus (played by Callum Turner), they’re assembling a squad to fight against the most deadly wizard in the past ten years. Gathering in the team are Victoria Yeates plays Bunty, William Nadylam plays Yusuf Kama, Jessica Williams plays Professor Eulalie “Lally” Hicks, and Dan Fogler plays Jacob Kowalski. Other old characters shown in the video include Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein and Ezra Miller as Credence Barebone.

The most significant debut is that of Mads Mikkelsen as Grindelwald, who will fight with Dumbledore’s brigades as he attempts to start warfare with the Muggles. It will be fascinating to see how Mikkelsen’s interpretation varies from how Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp did before in the franchise.
David Yates did not only direct Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, as well as the final four Harry Potter films, but also all of the Fantastic Beasts movies. J.K. Rowling and Steve Kloves, who wrote seven of the eight Harry Potter films and makes his Fantastic Beasts debut with this movie, co-authored The Secrets of Dumbledore.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will be released in cinemas on April 15. Check out the first official trailer with fantastic scenes right below:
