Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, Warner Bros.‘ upcoming Harry Potter prequel-sequel (say that three times fast), features Jude Law‘s Albus Dumbledore front and center on the latest poster. The picture, which was released via the official Fantastic Beasts UK Twitter account, pushes the main character Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to the side in favor of Dumbledore, confirming that Dumbledore will take center stage in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.

Not only does this new trailer center on Dumbledore, but it also has a gorgeous shot of Hogwarts, implying that much of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will be based on more known Wizarding World components. Even more so than the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them saga.
The poster features Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski, Callum Turner as Theseus Scamander, Fiona Glascott as Minerva McGonagall, Jessica Williams as Professor Eulalie “Lally” Hicks, William Nadylam as Yusuf Kama, together with Richard Coyle as Albus’ younger brother, Aberforth Dumbledore. These characters will form “Team Dumbledore” and go on the hunt for Gellert Grindelwald, the wicked wizard.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is a new film based on the Harry Potter series with Gellert Grindelwald played by Mads Mikkelsen.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will transport spectators to the wizarding realm of the 1930s and follow the events leading up to the wizarding war and their participation in World War II. Gellert Grindelwald, a powerful Dark wizard, is preparing to take control of the wizarding world, according to Professor Albus Dumbledore. He entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead an adventurous band of wizards, witches, and one courageous Muggle baker on a risky expedition, where they battle Grindelwald’s expanding legion of followers and encounter old and new animals. But, with the stakes so high, how much longer can Dumbledore stay out of it?
In addition to previously recognized areas such as the United States and the United Kingdom, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will explore far further and wider throughout the wizarding globe, investigating magical societies in Bhutan, Germany, and China.
Mads Mikkelsen, who played Gellert Grindelwald in Hannibal, will play the wicked Gellert Grindelwald in the sequel. Mikkelsen takes over the role from Johnny Depp, who left Warner Bros. owing to personal concerns. “Obviously, because it’s the following picture, this is a more direct parallel. So we’ve built a few bridges to allow us to identify it, but we’ve also said we have to make it our own,” Mikkelsen said of his decision to take on the job. “I have been a fan of Johnny Depp since I saw him as a young man, and to try to bring his intensity and his way of doing it into my work is a no-go. I have to find my own, because he is unique, and I just have to let that be, and find a different path.”
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will be published in the United Kingdom on April 8, 2022, and in the United States on April 15, 2022.
