
“Secrets of Dumbledore,” the third installment in the series, stars Eddie Redmayne as magizoologist and franchise hero Newt Scamander and Jude Law as youthful Albus Dumbledore. As the title indicates, the new “Fantastic Beasts” promises to dig even deeper into the renowned wizard’s unknown history as he leads the quest to defeat Gellert Grindelwald, now played by Mads Mikkelsen, who has taken over for Johnny Depp, has been described as “the most lethal wizard in almost a century.”
J.K. Rowling and Steve Kloves wrote the screenplay for “Fantastic Beasts 3,” which is directed by David Yates. With some tense exchanges between Mikkelsen and Law, the new video previews the franchise’s darker tone and puts the focus on the struggle against Grindelwald. Dan Fogler’s muggle also receives a wand.
The “Fantastic Beasts” project is set to be a five-film series, so there’s still a long way to go. But, for the time being, the history of the Wizarding World — notably, the narrative of Dumbledore — is being built out in this most recent film.
On April 15, 2022, Warner Bros. will release “Fantastic Beasts 3: The Secrets of Dumbledore,” which will be released exclusively in cinemas.
