A new Dungeons & Dragons movie from Paramount, John Francis Daley, and Jonathan Goldstein will bring the board game back to the big screen. With promotional material already offering fans their first glimpse at the movie, the movie is anticipated to have a significant presence at San Diego Comic-Con in the upcoming days. The first official teaser poster for the movie was spotted by keen-eyed Dungeons & Dragons aficionados wandering around the San Diego Convention Center.
The poster depicts the numerous animals that are a part of the tabletop game’s mythology, filling up a red ampersand against a pitch-black background. The movie, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, would be released solely in cinemas the following year, as stated on the poster.
Michelle Rodriguez, Chris Pine, and Rege Jean-Page will serve as the film’s protagonists, while a slew of other A-list actors will round out the cast.
With a spin-off television series already in the works, the movie is anticipated to establish a new franchise for the game owned by Wizards of the Coast.
In addition to Pine, Rodriguez, and Page, Justice Smith, Hugh Grant, and Sophia Lillis will also appear in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves with Grant portraying the antagonist. Other than the fact that the next fantasy movie is set in the Forgotten Realms, a key location in D&D campaigns for the past 30 years, not much more is known about it. The movie’s production was completed last August, and Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley were in charge of directing. Other Dungeons & Dragons live-action projects that Entertainment One is working on include at least one television series that will be directed by Red Notice filmmaker Rawson Marshall Thurber.
On March 3, 2023, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will be made available.
