The fact that the original Dune premiered simultaneously on HBO Max didn’t stop the first Dune from succeeding in cinemas with a $41 million opening weekend and beyond expectations, leading to a swift green light for a sequel weeks later. To far, the picture has made $400 million worldwide, with $108 million of it coming from the United States alone. Additionally, it was nominated for 10 Oscars, including Best Picture, and won six of them. Up to now, the movie has amassed a total of $400 million in box offices all over the globe, including $108 million in the United States.
