It was expected that production on the sequel, which would be based on the second half of the original book authored by Frank Herbert, would start right away given the positive reviews and commercial success of Dune in 2021. Now that Dune: Part Two is scheduled to start filming in Italy later this month, production will shortly get underway.

Pre-production on Dune: Part Two will begin in Altivole, Italy, and the film will be released the following year. The Brion Tomb by Carlo Scarpa will be utilized for shooting.
Later this month, on July 21, primary production with the actors of the movie will start in Budapest, Hungary. The director of the movie will be Denis Villeneuve once again.
Several of the previous movie’s cast members, including Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atriedes, Zendaya’s Chani, Javier Bardem’s Stilgar, Rebecca Ferguson’s Lady Jessica, and Stellan Skarsgrd’s Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, will return in Dune: Part Two. Lady Margot will be portrayed by Léa Seydoux, and Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV by Christopher Walken. The sequel also features the returning actors. As previously reported, Florence Pugh (Black Widow) would portray Princess Irulan Corrino, and Austin Butler, who most recently acted in Elvis, would play Feyd-Rautha.
Dune, which was released in October 2021 and is currently streaming on HBO Max, was a commercial triumph, earning $401.8 million at the global box office. The movie would later achieve a 90 percent audience rating and an 83 percent critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie received praise for its immersive style, sense of scale, and fidelity to the original material under Villeneuve’s direction. Several honors has been given as a result of its positive reviews, including six Academy Awards and five BAFTA awards.
In addition to the prequel, a television series called Dune: The Sisterhood that centers on the Bene Gesserit is in development. Dune: Part Two was supposed to be released in October 2023 before being postponed until November 17, 2023. The Arrakian deserts will be easily accessible to viewers when the film premieres the following year.
The second installment of Dune will be released on November 17, 2023. Villeneuve will helm the picture, which features Chalamet, Bardem, Ferguson, Zendaya, Walken, and Seydoux. Hans Zimmer will once again create the soundtrack for the picture.
