It is reported that Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be released next month. The interesting thing is, that Marvel Studios has confirmed that its tickets will be available an entire month prior to the film’s May 6th release date, which is on Wednesday, April 6th. This has been standard practice for all major studio releases, and Multiverse of Madness will undoubtedly be one of the year’s most anticipated pictures.
Marvel released a brief 30-second teaser to advertise ticket availability, and there’s a lot of new footage in it. Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) requests Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) for assistance in combating a danger, a request Strange claims “can help her get back on the Avengers lunchbox” after her acts in WandaVision. Wong (Benedict Wong) also comes face to face with a gigantic monster, as well as an impending threat to the Sanctum Sanctorum at Kamar Taj. As opposed to the previous trailer, the commercial concentrates mostly on the trio of Strange, Wong, and Wanda, with few appearances and famous characters.
Xochitl Gomez also appears in Multiverse of Madness as newbie America Chavez, a teen with the capacity to move between realities. Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Michael Stuhlbarg return as they did in the 2016 picture. Scott Derrickson (The Evil Dead, Spider-Man) was replaced as director by Sam Raimi. The screenplay was written by Michael Waldron (Loki, Rick and Morty). Kevin Feige, Marvel’s chief creative officer, will serve as a producer on the film.

This will be Marvel’s first feature in 2022, with two more films planned. Chris Hemsworth and Taika Waititi will reunite for Thor: Love and Thunder in July, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will continue Wakanda’s adventures in November. Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk will be released later this year, thus Moon Knight is Marvel’s first Disney+ production of the year.
On April 6th, tickets for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will go on purchase. On May 6, the film will be released in cinemas. Marvel has published a trailer for the film, which you can see below:
