Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel, has been officially rated PG-13 by the MPAA for “strong scenes of violence and action, scary visuals, and some profanity.” This just serves to reinforce the dark tone and horror element of the Sam Raimi-directed superhero picture, which the studio promised when it was initially presented at its most recent Comic Con panel in 2019.
The film is scheduled to debut on May 6, 2022, according to the official release date. Although it will have no direct competition in its current theatrical release, the superhero picture will nevertheless open in the same month as three other high-profile films, including Blumhouse’s Firestarter remake, Disney’s Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers, and Paramount’s Top Gun: Maverick.
