Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, has surpassed the $900 million milestones at the worldwide box office.

The latest film from Marvel Studios, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, has surpassed a new box office benchmark one month after its initial release. The worldwide total for the sequel starring Benedict Cumberbatch has exceeded the $900 million mark.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness racked up $9.3 million and $11.4 million abroad in its fifth weekend of release in the United States. This takes the U.S. total to $388.7 million domestically, $520.7 million abroad, and $909.4 million globally. At this point in time, the movie holds the title of the highest-grossing film of 2022.
It remains to be seen whether this sequel surpasses the $1 billion mark, but in light of heightened competition from Top Gun: Maverick and the impending Jurassic World Dominion, achieving this goal for this sequel may be rather challenging. Also, the picture will hit Disney+ later this month, which may take a slight toll on ticket sales. Regardless, Marvel Studios’ newest is remaining the top-grossing film of the year so far in 2022.
