The domestic IMAX network added $5 million to the overall revenue of $9.7 million earned during the weekend, increasing the domestic IMAX total to an impressive $26.6 million. The remaining $4.7 million was racked up in overseas markets, bringing the total amount of money made in international box offices to $22.2 million. This weekend increases the overall worldwide box office for IMAX films to $48.9 million, and the anticipated total for the weekend is expected to boost the total to $50.4 million.
The success of IMAX is followed by the premiere of Shin Ultraman in Japan, which is coming off a hot streak with an expected weekend box office of $1.125 million.
