
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness continues to make a splash at the worldwide IMAX box office. It retains its position as the leader among all titles. The overall network weekend gross for the blockbuster is already $9.7 million and is anticipated to reach $11.2 million.
The domestic IMAX network added $5 million to the overall revenue of $9.7 million earned during the weekend, increasing the domestic IMAX total to an impressive $26.6 million. The remaining $4.7 million was racked up in overseas markets, bringing the total amount of money made in international box offices to $22.2 million. This weekend increases the overall worldwide box office for IMAX films to $48.9 million, and the anticipated total for the weekend is expected to boost the total to $50.4 million.
The success of IMAX is followed by the premiere of Shin Ultraman in Japan, which is coming off a hot streak with an expected weekend box office of $1.125 million. IMAX live-action openings in Japan have never been this strong for a Japanese movie, putting it on pace to be the fourth-highest for a local language title.
