Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness returns to the limelight only a week after being released on Disney Plus, setting a new streaming record on the site for being the most-watched movie within its first five days of release, with 2.1 million households watching.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness found a new way to reign the screens immediately after being dethroned as the highest-earning film of the year by Top Gun: Maverick. The Marvel film establishes a new audience record on Disney Plus, with 2.1 million households watching the film in the first five days.
According to a SambaTV data study, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the most viewed movie on Disney Plus during the first five days of its debut. This record was previously held by another Marvel film, Eternals, with 2 million household views before being broken by the Doctor Strange sequel.
However, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness‘s record is only valid within Disney Plus. Other films on the list were launched on a different platform, such as Red Notice, which had the most number of views in the first five days of its debut on Netflix. Overall, the Marvel film is ranked eighth.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness tells the story of how he met a being who would forever change the course of everything he knows following the titular sorcerer as America Chavez, a young person who punches star-shaped portals through the multiverse, arrives on Earth and is pursued by monsters who wanted to take away her powers.
In addition to Benedict Cumberbatch, who once again plays Doctor Strange, the cast also includes Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez, Chiwetel Ejiofor in the role of Baron Mordo, Rachel McAdams in the role of Christine Palmer, and Benedict Wong in the role of Wong. Sam Raimi is the director in charge.
