Doctor Strange 2 Updates on Twitter shared a zoomed-in of some shattered glass slivers on the Multiverse of Madness poster, which has a picture that looks a lot like Captain Carter’s Union Jack-emblazoned shield. Captain Carter’s live-action arrival in the second Doctor Strange feature has yet to be confirmed by Marvel Studios.
Captain Carter initially appeared in the first episode of What If…?, which featured an alternate reality in which Peggy Carter (rather than Steve Rogers) becomes the globe’s first super-soldier. At the end of the episode, Captain Carter bravely sacrifices herself to prevent a Hydra conspiracy, only to reappear alive and well in the current day as the credits roll. She subsequently appears as one of the Watcher’s recruits for the Guardians of the Multiverse, a band of cross-dimensional superheroes tasked with preventing Ultron’s multiversal slaughter rampage, in the What If…? season finale.
Doctor Strange in the Universe of Madness, as the title indicates, will follow Benedict Cumberbatch’s Master of the Mystic Arts on a voyage around the multiverse, encountering other versions of well-known characters (including Doctor Strange himself) along the way. This concept allows for characters from What If…?, such as Captain Carter, to appear in the planned sequel.

During Super Bowl LVI, the complete trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premiered. It provides enough food for thought for fans, from the introduction of new characters like Xochitl Gomez’s America Chavez/Miss America to the apparent reappearance of more famous figures like Patrick Stewart’s Professor X. The inter-dimensional beast Gargantos, a renamed but instantly recognized variation on legendary Doctor Strange adversary Shuma-Gorath, is also shown in the teaser.
Beside Cumberbatch and Gomez, Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (stars by Elizabeth Olsen), Benedict Wong as Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, and Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West will appear in the Multiverse of Madness.
