Stan Lee and Reg E. Cathey have had their memorials restored to their Marvel shows on Disney Plus.
Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Defenders, and The Punisher are among the Marvel TV shows that have relocated from Netflix to Disney Plus, their new streaming home. Since then, viewers have had the opportunity to observe some of the minor modifications that have resulted from the switch to a new service.
Some fans were taken off surprise by a shift in both The Punisher and Luke Cage, especially because there appeared to be no valid justification for the move. The Punisher’s Season 2 finale had a title card that says, “In loving memory of Stan Lee,” but Luke Cage’s Season 2 finale included a title card that reads, “In Memoriam. Reg E. Cathey. Forward Aways.” For unclear reasons, both of these dedications were removed; however, they may currently be seen on Disney Plus.
In comparison to the obvious, and rather amusing, modifications made in Marvel’s Netflix episodes following their transition to Disney Plus, the removal of the dedications to both Stan Lee and Reg E. Cathey was somewhat unusual, with Luke Cage showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker slamming the decision. Thankfully, everything has been restored so that the relevant shows and fans may pay tribute to them.
Jon Bernthal, Floriana Lima, Amber Rose Revah, Giorgia Whigham, Jason R. Moore, Ben Barnes, Corbin Bernsen, Deborah Ann Woll, Josh Stewart, and Annette O’Toole star in season 2 of The Punisher.
On Disney Plus, The Punisher and Luke Cage are still available. Let’s keep an eye on Cinemazzi for the most up-to-date information on these Marvel heroes’ futures.
