The first trailer for Adrian Lyne’s sexual psychological thriller “Deep Water” has been released, along with confirmed news that the film will be aired on Hulu next month.
Ben Affleck and Ana De Armas feature as a married couple who play twisted mind games with one other in the film, which is based on Patricia Highsmith‘s novel.
Tracy Letts, Lil Rel Howery, Dash Mihok, Finn Wittrock, Jacob Elordi, Rachel Blanchard, and Michael Braun are among the supporting cast members.
“The film takes us inside the marriage of picture-perfect Vic (Affleck) and Melinda (de Armas) Van Allen to discover the hazardous mind games they play and what happens to the individuals who get caught up in them,” according to the official synopsis from Hulu.
Prior to the Disney-Fox merger, “Deep Water” was established at 20th Century Fox.
Before Disney withdrew the movie off the release calendar at the end of last year, it was set to debut on January 14, 2022. There was significant industry suspicion regarding “Dark Water” before it was withdrawn, given the picture’s strangely scant advertising — no trailer or featured image — for a film that was slated to open in a month.
With films like “912 Weeks,” “Fatal Attraction,” “Indecent Proposal,” and “Unfaithful,” Lyne has established himself as a master of the sensual thriller. “Fatal Attraction” earned Lyne an Oscar nomination for best director.
