The promotional poster has been unveiled.
Following many delays in the production of Warner Bros.’ next comic book projects, fans may have to wait until July 29 to see the animated DC League of Super-Pets.
The voice behind the project, Jared Stern, the writer of The LEGO Batman Movie, is reason enough to be thrilled about the feature-length debut. Dwayne Johnson stars in and produces Krypto the Superdog through his Seven Bucks production firm, with the rest of the actors bringing in their own skills.
Keanu Reeves and John Krasinski are portraying Batman and Superman, respectively, and while the names of the rest of the Justice Leagues have yet to be revealed, a new promo poster reveals the team’s animal friends, which can be seen below.
While the future of the DCEU’s canonical Justice League remains unknown, the all-star roster has suddenly appeared in the most unexpected of places. Following a humorous cameo in the season 1 finale of James Gunn’s Peacemaker, the team will reunite in the DC League of Super-Pets, but they will not be the center of attention.
Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse took taking a known comic book concept and adapted it for a wacky and irreverent all-ages animated adventure, and we can only hope that DC’s efforts to recreate the formula will fulfill expectations.
