Fans now have a first peek at the new animated series Creature Commandos from DC Studios.

The first installment of the new DC Universe, dubbed “Gods and Monsters,” would feature an animated Creature Commandos series, it was revealed. James Gunn, a co-head of DC Studios, wrote the seven-episode series, which introduces characters such Eric Frankenstein, Nina Mazursky, Doctor Phosphorus, G.I. Robot, Rick Flag Sr., and the Bride of Frankenstein as well as Weasel, a star of The Suicide Squad. Flag is anticipated to appear in more DC Universe endeavors.

Below is an official picture from Creature Commandos. Although the series is in production, a precise release date is still pending.

    J. M. DeMatteis and Pat Broderic came up with the idea for the Creature Commandos, which first appeared in Weird War Tales #93 in 1980. In the third season of The CW’s Arrow, their leader General Matthew Shrieve made an appearance. Marc Singer played the part.

According to James Gunn and Peter Safran, their plan for the DC Universe entails fixed screenplays, leeway, and a common plotline for all cinema, television, animation, and video game ventures. The two clarified that their eight-year plan is not a complete reboot because the DC Universe might bring back components from earlier DC eras.

At Warner Bros. Discovery, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash, Blue Beetle, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom are all in various stages of post-production. All four DC Universe films are expected to be released in theaters in 2023. Will those cinematic characters emerge in the new DC Universe? Just Gunn and Safran are aware.
