Colin Farrell’s ‘The Penguin’: ‘The Batman’ HBO Max Spinnoff’s Start Date Has Been Set

Colin Farrell‘s imminent The Batman spinoff series The Penguin now has an official production start date.

Following the success of The Batman, Matt Reeves plans to extend the franchise even further by developing not just a cinematic sequel, but a slew of television spinoffs, all of which will be available exclusively on HBO Max. One of those will be The Penguin, starring Colin Farrell as protagonist and delving into his criminal path in Gotham City.

Now, it seems that the release date for The Penguin is getting quite clear now. According to a production listing, the highly awaited new Batman spinoff series is slated to begin production in Los Angeles, California on June 15, 2022. With that in mind, it’s conceivable that fans wanting to return to Matt Reeves’ Gotham City could get their opportunity to do it sooner than anticipated, courtesy to the impending spinoff series based on the film.

Lauren LeFranc (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) serves as writer and showrunner for The Penguin. Along with Dylan Clark, who worked on The Batman, Matt Reeves and Colin Farrell are also on board as producers.
