Chris Evans‘s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Captain America has been the subject of rumors for a long time, but in a recent interview, he appeared to imply that this would not be happening unless the stars aligned.
During a recent interview, Evans was questioned about the speculations that he will be returning, maybe in a plot that sees Captain America returning the Infinity Stones. Evans acknowledged the desire of fans to see his return but said that it would be a “tall order” to bring him back.
Despite Evans‘ certainty that he won’t return, the hope can still be alive. Many MCU tales now touch on the multiverse, thus it is feasible that a different version of Captain America may arrive.
While Steve Rogers has been referenced in many Marvel Cinematic Universe films since Avengers: Endgame, we haven’t seen him since he returned from delivering the Infinity Stones as an impossibly older man who appeared comfortable with no longer being the superhero everyone expected him to be. Since then, it seems that Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) has taken over the mantle of Captain America and will feature in the franchise’s fourth installment.
