Disney and Pixar’s new spinoff series, Cars on the Road, has been set to hit Disney+ on Thursday, September 8. Additionally, a first-look teaser for the animated series has been dropped. Check it out here:
Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and his closest buddy Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) go on a cross-country road journey to see Mater’s sister in Cars on the Road, a spinoff of the popular Cars films (2006, 2011, 2017) that chronicled McQueen’s racing career. Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy are back to the animated series to reprise their roles as the voice actors for the characters.
Bonnie Hunt, Paul Newman, Michael Keaton, Richard Petty, Cheech Marin, John Turturro, Emily Mortimer, and Michael Caine, Nathan Fillion are also involved in providing their voices for the flicks.
Marc Sondheimer is the producer of Cars on the Road. Each episode was directed by Steve Purcell, Bobby Podesta, and Brian Fee, while Jake Monaco provided the music for all nine.
