Bridgerton’s second season debut on Netflix drew a total of more than 2.5 billion minutes of viewing in its opening week, according to Nielsen’s announcement on Thursday, more than double all other streaming series for the week of March 21-27.
In its first 28 days on Netflix, Season 2 of the Shondaland-produced Regency-era drama series, which launched on March 25, has already become Netflix’s most-watched debut with 627.11 million hours, shattering Season 1’s record which rakes in 625.49 million hours over the same period.
According to Nielsen, females accounted for 76 percent of Bridgerton viewers in the show’s debut week.
Nielsen’s streaming figures only include minutes seen on a TV screen, thus, mobile is not included. It keeps tabs on Disney+, Hulu, Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video, and Netflix and reports its data with a lag in accordance with the streamers.
