Dinosaurs continue to dominate the food chain.

Officially, the dinosaurs from Jurassic World Dominion are among the best. The most recent installment of the Jurassic World trilogy has surpassed the absurd $800 million mark at the box office around the world, joining Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Top Gun: Maverick, and Spider-Man: No Way Home as four Hollywood movies to do so since the pandemic started in 2020. With $824.5 million, it joins the latter two giants as the third-highest grossing movie of 2022.
With an additional $26.8 million added to the cume over the weekend, Jurassic World Dominion continued its onslaught across the box office with some strong global support. The film has earned about $500 million globally, with China playing a significant role in its success. The movie only had a 22 percent dip over its fourth weekend, with Sunday showing particularly good results with only a 16 percent drop. All in all, China contributed $9.7 million to the final result. Global markets have been currently stable, with France and Germany continuing to be strong and Australia notably benefiting from school breaks.
It’s remarkable how persistent the movie has remained despite receiving a very horrible response from both reviewers and viewers. It is now in fourth place at the box office after Elvis, Top Gun: Maverick, and Minions: The Rise of Gru in its fourth weekend of release. But for a few reasons, it’s unlikely to surpass the $1 billion thresholds. Despite the fact that China continues to see the movie, it is not doing as well there as its two predecessors did ($114.3 million so far vs. $261.2 million for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and $228.7 million for Jurassic World).
Regardless, Jurassic World Dominion‘s $185 million budget will be more than doubled. . The film has earned about $500 million globally, with China playing a significant role in its success. With Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill returning as their famous roles from the original Jurassic Park movie, it is billed as both the grand climax to the saga and a return to the series’ beginnings.
Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Mamoudou Athie, and Campbell Scott, members of the current generation of Jurassic actors, join the classic quartet in the movie. Colin Trevorrow, who oversaw the popular first Jurassic World movie, has now released Jurassic World Dominion.
The movie is still being screened in cinemas.
