The first teaser and new photographs from filmmaker Adam Berg’s Black Crab, which will be available on Netflix on March 18, are released now. The Swedish action thriller, set in a post-apocalyptic future, follows six soldiers dispatched on a clandestine operation to convey a mystery gift across a frozen archipelago without knowing what perils await them or who they can trust.
Along with Rapace, the cast includes Jakob Oftebro, Erik Enge, Dar Salim, Ardalan Esmaili, Aliette Opheim, and David Dencik. The film is produced by Malin Idevall and Mattias Montero, with Rapace, Christopher Granier-Deferre, Berg, Emil Wiklund, and Kim Magnusson acting as executive producers. Berg and Pelle Rdström wrote Black Crab, which is based on Jerker Virdborg’s novel of the same name.
The first shots show Rapace on the icy archipelago with her squad as they launch operation Black Crab, which she refers to in the trailer as a “suicide mission”. And we continue to witness a sequence of gloomy pictures of the crew organizing their voyage to transfer a parcel across the archipelago in order to try to stop this conflict.

The post-apocalyptic view of the earth isn’t exactly novel, but what works with the Black Crab trailer is that we’re plunged into Caroline’s quest as she attempts to make her way across the frozen archipelago to preserve the world as best she can. That, along with the trailer’s eerie themes of mistrust and terror for those she’s working with, suggests that Black Crab will have fans on the edge of their seats with each twist and turn, and who doesn’t want to see Rapace rescue the world?
Black Crab is expected to reach Netflix, internationally, on March 18, 2022. Take a look at the trailer below:
