Black Adam will be played by Dwayne Johnson as Teth-Adam or the titular anti-hero, and his background was first leaked during 2019’s Shazam!. After only acting in animated shows and films such as Young Justice, this time marks the live-action debut of the character. Furthermore, the film adaptation is anticipated to release a live-action film introduction of the Justice Society of America.
Acting with Johnson, there are other cast members such as Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Aldis Hodge as Hawkman. Other actors include Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, Bodhi Sabongui, Mo Amer, and Uli Latukefu in concealed roles.
The film originated from the DC Comics character created by Otto Binder and C.C. Beck, now it is being directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows, Jungle Cruise) and written by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshiryani. Producers consist of Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions together with FlynnPicturesCo’s Beau Flynn, with Scott Sheldon supervising the project for FlynnPictureCo.
Firstly planned to release in December 2021, Black Adam has currently been postponed to July 29, 2022.
