Fans of the DC brand have had another difficult week as the continuity of the company’s universe has once more been called into doubt. One anti-hero is still making an effort to change the DCU at the box office, and his name is Black Adam. Since late October, the Dwayne Johnson-starring movie has been in theaters. Black Adam has grossed an additional $1.5 million at the box office this weekend in 73 markets despite a lackluster opening weekend with the movie already being accessible on VOD. The movie now has a global total of $388.9 million and an international total of $220 million.

While there are many things that may be stated about Black Adam‘s performance, he is persistent. This superhero epic was undoubtedly difficult to market, even with Johnson serving as a promotional tool for the picture. Shazam’s arch-rival Black Adam is a character that many casual moviegoers simply weren’t familiar enough with to risk seeing in a theater. Even though the trailers were packed with action, they fit nicely with all the recent MCU releases. For the majority of people, it simply felt like another superhero film. The typical audience was prepared to wait a couple more weeks to satisfy their Wakanda Forever comic book craving.
In addition to being available on VOD, Black Adam is still showing in cinemas. You can watch the Black Adam clip down below while we wait to learn the final outcome for Johnson‘s Man in Black and the rest of the DC Universe as we know it.
