
Redeeming Love is the most recent pictures adaptation from a bestselling novel with the same name by Universal Pictures. The first glimpse of the upcoming work excites movie puffs, together with the planned premiere date of January 21, 2022.
Written by the New York Times bestselling author Francine Rivers, the 1991 novel takes place during the California Gold Rush of 1850. The audience gets introduced to Angel (Abigail Cowen), a woman who was trafficked into prostitution as a child. Our protagonist then escapes to California, struggling to survive through hatred and self-loathing until she has an encounter with Michael Hosea (Tom Lewis). Angel comes to the realization thank to their relationship, that love can heal and change life for the better.

The writer and director of the drama D.J. Caruso has experiences with a wide range of genres, notably, thrillers like Disturbia, dramas like Standing Up, actions like I Am Number Four, and xXx: Return Of Xander Cage. Many other episodic TV series of him can be named: The Shield, Over There, Smallville, and Dark Angel. However, it can be confident that the screenplay stays true with the original novel as both dir. Caruso and its author Rivers have worked closely in harmony.
Redeeming Love stars Cowen and Lewis, along with other names as Logan Marshall-Green (Upgrade, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Prometheus), Famke Janssen (X-Men, Taken), Nina Dobrev (xXx: Return Of Xander Cage, Vampire Diaries), and Eric Dane (Euphoria, Grey’s Anatomy, The Last Ship, X-Men).
“The story is still as relevant today as it was 30 years ago. It is a story that portrays the battle of light versus dark with unlikely redemption waiting for you at the end,” said Dane.
The project was produced by Cindy Bond of Mission Pictures International, Simon Swart and Wayne Fitzjohn of Nthibah Pictures, Michael Scott and Brittany Yost of Pinnacle Peak Pictures, and Vlokkie Gordon of Advantage Entertainment. Along with the author Rivers as an executive producer.
