Benedict Cumberbatch, the star of The Power of the Dog, will headline Saturday Night Live for the second time in May.
On May 7, Cumberbatch will perform on Saturday Night Live with Arcade Fire, an indie rock band. In November 2016, the two-time Oscar nominee made his SNL debut, with Solange singing. He’ll be appearing on SNL after a buzzy awards season centered on his performance in Jane Campion’s Netflix film The Power of the Dog. He was nominated for Oscars, BAFTA Awards, Golden Globes, and SAG Awards for his role in the picture.
Arcade Fire will make their sixth appearance as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live, after appearances in 2007, 2010, 2013, and 2018.
The star of Dr. Strange is the most recent addition to the 2022 host roster. Ariana DeBose kicked off the long-running comedic series with a bang. Lizzo, who served as both host and musical guest on Saturday, was preceded by Will Forge, Willem Dafoe, John Mulaney, Oscar Isaac, Zoe Kravitz, Jerrod Carmichael, and Jake Gyllenhaal.
