Matt Reeves’ Bat-Verse may be heading towards its first R-Rating with its HBO spinoff, The Penguin, which is planned to highlight Colin Farrell’s villain after DC fans have found the actor’s performance incredibly interesting to watch, enough to make a spinoff program featuring the villain.

As The Penguin continues to shoot in New York City, new footage from Twitter user The Art of Batman shows a scene being shot on location. The clip teases Colin Farrell‘s Oz Cobblepot, who plays the movie’s titular character, dropping an F-bomb as he strolls through Gotham City. Watch the video below:
Given the characteristics of HBO, the Batverse, and superhero shows in general, it is very likely that The Penguin will receive its TV-MA classification. Also, Matt Reeves’ The Batman already received an R-rating, so it won’t be shocking to see how many F-bombs are tossed throughout the series.
For the time being, the story of The Batman spinoff series is still a secret. The little teaser videos we have, nevertheless, have already set the stage. According to reports, it takes place after The Batman, with Gotham still dealing with the enormous flood that the Riddler produced.
Before we likely have the chance to meet Oz again with Robert Pattinson‘s Caped Crusader, let’s hope we get the chance to learn more about Oz and his history.
There is currently no official release date for The Penguin, however, HBO Max is expected to air it sometime around 2024.
