A behind-the-scenes image from the now-canceled Batgirl movie reveals a fresh take on Michael Keaton‘s Batman.

Co-director Adil El Arbi expressed his appreciation for a select number of people who came out to him and his co-director Bilall Fallah after learning of the cancellation of the DC Extended Universe movie Batgirl on his official Instagram account when the news broke. He also included a behind-the-scenes picture of Michael Keaton dressed as his interpretation of Batman on his Instagram story.
The image, which you can see below, shows Michael Keaton’s Batman and Leslie Grace’s Batgirl together:
Originally, HBO Max was supposed to air Batgirl later this year. Given that it starred Michael Keaton as Batman and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, it was most likely going to be released when The Flash entered cinemas. The movie, which was originally scheduled to come out in theaters in November 2022 but was postponed, is still going to include Keaton.
Leslie Grace was supposed to play Barbara Gordon in Batgirl, along with J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Brendan Fraser playing Firefly, and Keaton playing Bruce Wayne/Batman. In the next movie, The Caped Crusader, Keaton will continue to play his version of the Caped Crusader.
