It has been revealed that Cameron Diaz will head back from retirement to join Jamie Foxx in the Netflix film Back in Action.
Seth Gordon (Identity Thief) is slated to helm the picture from a screenplay he co-wrote with Brendan O’Brien (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates). The movie’s storyline is presently kept under wraps.
Foxx even posted on Twitter a conversation he had with Diaz regarding the project and Diaz’s comeback to the cinema, during which NFL legend Tom Brady gave her advice about “un-retiring.” Hear the call in the tweet below.
Both Diaz and Foxx have experience working together, most recently in the remake of the musical Annie in 2014 and, before that, in the 1999 film adaptation of the sports drama Any Given Sunday.
Back in Action is going to be produced by Beau Bauman under the banner of Good One Productions and by Seth Gordon under the banner of Exhibit A. Foxx will serve as executive producer with O’Brien, Datari Turner, and Mark McNair.
