With the official announcement of the Avatar: The Way of Water release date for Disney+ and HBO Max, viewers will soon be able to watch the sequel on those platforms.
On June 7, both Disney+ and HBO Max will release the James Cameron-directed Avatar: The Way of Water. The eagerly anticipated follow-up received positive reviews and commercial success, earning it several Academy Award nominations. This success paved the way for the blockbuster franchise’s upcoming scheduled installments.
Cameron, who established the franchise with 2009’s Avatar, served as both the director and co-writer of Avatar: The Way of Water. Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel David Moore, Stephen Lang, and Sigourney Weaver were among the actors who returned to the cast. Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, and other actors are included in the cast as well.
One of the largest box office hits in cinematic history, the film brought in almost $2.3 billion. Avatar 3 is already scheduled for release on December 20, 2024, Avatar 4’s schedule is on December 18, 2026, and Avatar 5 is scheduled for release on December 22, 2028.
