Only a few months remain until the much-awaited release of Avatar: The Way of Water, but fans can now pre-order a new tie-in comic book series on Amazon that can offer them a taste of the franchise before the upcoming movie’s release. In October of this year, Dark Horse Comics will release the first issue of the comic book series Avatar: The High Ground. Guilherme Balbi drew the drawings for the series, which was written by Sherri L. Smith (The Toymaker’s Apprentice).

The comic book series, which serves as a prologue to Avatar: The Way of Water, will focus on Jake Sully and Neytiri as they confront the RDA once more after starting a family. The series will be based on a plot concept that director James Cameron abandoned while working on the Avatar sequels. The first volume of the series, Volume 1, which will be released on October 25 and portrays Jake and Neytiri brandishing their own weapons and preparing for war, is currently available for pre-order.
The second book of the series, which will be released on December 6 along with the first comic in the series, is also now accessible for pre-order. A distinctive and eye-catching illustration of Jake Sully battling with other Na’vi in spacesuits outside of Pandora’s atmosphere appears on the comic book’s cover. When the comic is published later this year, readers will be able to view the original tale, which has been teased with some intriguing locales.
After Avatar: Tsu’tey’s Path, which centers on the character Tsu’tey during the events of the first movie, and the immediate follow-up to Avatar is called Avatar: The Next Shadow. Following Avatar: The High Ground, another comic book series named Avatar: Adapt or Die will make its appearance in February 2023. This one is set a decade before the first movie and will center on Dr. Grace Augustine. On Free Comic Book Day in 2017, Dark Horse also issued a standalone Avatar comic that highlighted Jake’s relationship with the Great Leonopteryx.
On October 25, the first book of Avatar: The High Ground will be on sale, but you can order it now. On December 16, Avatar: The Way of Water will be available only in cinemas. the trailer is below:
