Apple TV+ has dropped the first teaser for Tehran season 2, giving fans their first glimpse of Academy Award-nominated Glenn Close in action. The drama-thriller series, which debuted on the streaming site in 2020, revolved around Mossad agent Tamar Rabinyan, portrayed by Niv Sultan. Following a botched mission to deactivate an Iranian nuclear facility, Tamar goes rogue in Tehran and becomes embroiled in an espionage adventure. Close, who has been nominated for eight Academy Awards, will take on a role as a formidable new character in season 2.
Close’s new character recounts an explosive and action-packed set of events in the first trailer for the forthcoming second season, which was published by Apple TV. The show also features some familiar characters, like Shaun Toub’s Faraz Kamali, to reprise their roles, while Tamar’s new covert employment and operations shroud in secrecy are juxtaposed with high-speed vehicle chases and gunfights. With quick glimpses of shootouts, chases, and rooftop parkour, the new season seems to boost the ante in terms of action. Take a look at the brief yet attractive teaser below:
Close bolsters the already-impressive cast of the promising drama, and she just disclosed that the character was created specifically for the Hillbilly Elegy actress herself. Iranian drama Tehran season 1 was a nice addition to Apple’s streaming library, opening to overwhelmingly excellent reviews and drawing excitement for a potential multi-season run. On Friday, May 6, the second season of Tehran launches worldwide. The full first season is available only on Apple TV+.
