Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer has officially hit the web. It seems that this eagerly-awaited film will kick off Phase Five and take Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang on an out-of-this-world journey, where they come face to face with Jonathan Majors’ deadly Kang the Conqueror, a legendary Marvel supervillain first seen in comics over sixty years ago. Nonetheless, hold on a moment… haven’t we met Kang already?
The trailer unveils the return of actor Jonathan Majors, who took on the role of He Who Remains in the Disney+ series. In the new Ant-Man, he portrays Kang, an alternative version of the antagonist who will become the main villain of Marvel’s Multiverse Saga, including the forthcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) returns to Quantumania with Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer). Kathryn Newton, a newbie to Marvel, portrays Cassie, Scott’s daughter, who has aged up after the five-year time leap in Avengers: Endgame.
Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard are in charge of production, while Ant-Man trilogy helmer Peyton Reed will be back to the director’s chair. The screenplay was written by Jeff Loveness, who is also working on The Kang Dynasty.
The film marking the beginning of Marvel Phase 5 is set to arrive on February 17, 2023.
