As Kang the Conqueror was eventually presented in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, fans couldn’t help but wonder why Kang didn’t eliminate any significant characters in the threequel. According to a recent report, one of them will perish in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
The following characters are rumored to perish in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, according to Alex Perez of Cosmic Circus: Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), or Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer). See the tweet that follows:
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty already poses a significant threat to the Marvel cinematic universe given that the Avengers movies have a history of murdering significant characters. Not only because it concerns the universe, which opens up entirely new possibilities for more characters to depart the MCU, but also because of the significant potential losses for MCU fans.
Michael Douglas, who plays Hank, was one of the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania characters who previously responded to an Ant-Man 4 episode that seemed to foreshadow their imminent demise. If a fourth Ant-Man movie were to be made, the Oscar-winning actor only had one startling stipulation in mind: “As long as [Henry Pym] could die.”
Given that Hank was a crucial figure in Scott Lang’s epic adventure with the Avengers during the MCU, it only seems sensible that losing the source of his talents would be one of the hardest losses Scott would have to endure.
Despite rumors that Scott would eventually pass away as one of the franchise’s primary characters, nothing has been confirmed as of yet. But to be really honest, given how Marvel Phase 5 is constantly reducing the amount of content they provide, it’s difficult to predict when we’ll learn more about which Ant-Man figure will die in The Kang Dynasty.
While Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is currently accessible in theaters, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is currently scheduled for release on May 2, 2025.
