20th Century Studios has published a new teaser for its forthcoming film Death on the Nile, which depicts a terrified group of cruise lines striving to find the killer hidden among themselves. The film, which is set to hit theaters on February 11, 2022, will be based on the popular same-name 1973 Agatha Christie novel. Kenneth Branagh will make his return as the detective Hercule Poirot from 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express, as well as the director of the movie.
Several star casts join Branagh on the big screen this time, including Tom Bateman (from Behind Her Eyes), Oscar nominee Annette Bening (from American Beauty), Russell Brand (from Get Him to the Greek), Ali Fazal (Mirzapur), Dawn French (from French and Saunders), Gal Gadot (from Wonder Woman), Armie Hammer (from Call Me by Your Name), Rose Leslie (from Game of Thrones), Emma Mackey (from Sex Education), Sophie (from Black Panther). Murder on the Orient Express author Michael Green also contributed to Death on the Nile.
Picking every angle for the next thriller, the filmmakers opted to use 65mm Panavision cameras and recreate some of the locations from which Christie drew inspiration to establish the mood and transport spectators to the 1930s. To reflect the film’s concept, Disney is pushing a theatrical release ahead.
