Salma Hayek Pinault and Demián Bichir have joined the cast of Angelina Jolie‘s Without Blood, the first picture under her three-year deal with Fremantle.
The two Oscar nominees will seat on the director’s chair of the film, which began principal shooting this month in Southern Italy and Rome and is based on Alessandro Baricco’s worldwide best-selling book. It’s a fable set in the aftermath of an unspecified fight in an Italian farmhouse deep in the countryside.
Without Blood marks the fifth time Jolie has taken over directorial duties and the first under her Fremantle mega-deal, in which she will fill the roles of producer, director, and star in a number of films, documentaries, and television shows.
Fremantle, Jolie Productions, De Maio Entertainment, and The Apartment Pictures are all involved in the film’s production. The distributor is Fremantle.
