Launching on May 24, the Disney+ action-comedy series is based on the graphic novel by Gene Luen Yang.

In the official full trailer for the Disney+ television series American Born Chinese, Michelle Yeoh does her best to preserve mankind.

The action-comedy coming-of-age program, based on Gene Luen Yang’s graphic novel of the same name, is scheduled to premiere on May 24. Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, Stephanie Hsu, and James Hong, in addition to other cast members Daniel Wu, Yeo Yann Yann, Chin Han, and Sydney Taylor, all have parts in the eight-episode production.

American Born Chinese is a television series created by Kelvin Yu (Bob’s Burgers) and directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings). Ben Wang plays Wei-Chen, a common high school student whose life is changed when he meets Jim Liu, the son of a mythical god.

Along with Melvin Mar, Jake Kasdan, Erin O’Malley, and Asher Goldstein, Cretton and Yang serve as executive producers. The movie is the 20th Television production.

The film by co-directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, Everything Everywhere All at Once, took home seven awards at this year’s Academy Awards event, including Yeoh and Quan’s Oscars.

Angie Han, writing in The Hollywood Reporter, praised American Born Chinese for its incredibly entertaining and occasionally moving outcomes.

On May 24, Disney+ will have all eight of the American Born Chinese episodes accessible for viewing.
