‘Ambulance’ New Trailer: The Stakes Soar Higher Than Ever After A Robbery Gone Bad

Gyllenhaal claims they are the good guys, but will the cops trust him?

As the debut date of action-packed Michael Bay film gets closer, Universal chose to release another teaser for Ambulance, highlighting the film’s fast-paced rhythm – which covers a single day in Los Angeles – and the stakes of a narrative about a robbery gone horribly bad. The film will be planned to hit exclusively theaters in early April.

In typical Michael Bay style, the new trailer leaves you gasping for air as it depicts an ambulance escape, helicopter chases, police cars swerving off cliffs, and two brothers urgently attempting to persuade themselves that they are not the bad guys. Convincing the cops after stealing a bank, hijacking vehicles, and taking hostages is not an easy thing. And, of course, there are blasts.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II portray two adopted brothers in Ambulance, while Eliza González plays an emergency medical professional who is taken aback by the ambulance’s hijacking. Gyllenhaal was most recently seen in Netflix’s The Guilty, a fast-paced thriller that is the polar opposite of Ambulance in that all of the action takes place offscreen. Abdul-Mateen II recently played a new Morpheus in The Matrix Resurrections. González is a familiar face to blockbusters, having appeared in Godzilla vs. Kong in 2021.

For the first time since 2019’s 6 Underground, Michael Bay is directing a film. After filmmakers Phillip Noyce (The Giver), Navot Papushado (Gunpowder Milkshake), and Aharon Keshales (South of Heaven) had to step down, he took up the lead. Chris Fedak (Chuck, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) wrote Ambulance, which is based on the 2005 Danish self-titled film.

Ambulance hits theaters on April 8.

Take a look at the teaser of the film below:

The official summary may be found here:

In this breakneck thriller from director-producer Michael Bay, decorated veteran Will Sharp (Emmy winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Candyman, The Matrix Resurrections), desperate for money to cover his wife’s medical bills, asks for help from the one person he knows he shouldn’t— his adoptive brother Danny (Oscar® nominee Jake Gyllenhaal, Zodiac, Spider-Man: Far From Home). A charismatic career criminal, Danny instead offers him a score: the biggest bank heist in Los Angeles history: $32 million. With his wife’s survival on the line, Will can’t say no. But when their getaway goes spectacularly wrong, the desperate brothers hijack an ambulance with a wounded cop clinging to life and ace EMT Cam Thompson (Eiza González, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, Baby Driver) onboard. In a high-speed pursuit that never stops, Will and Danny must evade a massive, city-wide law enforcement response, keep their hostages alive, and somehow try not to kill each other, all while executing the most insane escape L.A. has ever seen.
